Skype is a free Internet connection utility that serves many functions for end-users.
  • Internet Telephone. Skype was originally provided to let users who had internet service, use the internet for their telephone service instead of using the normal phone lines. This service is free between Skype users on computers, but it can also extend to connect regular telephones with Skype computer phones for a small fee.

  • Internet Video Phones. An exciting feature of Skype is the ability to not only talk to and hear others on your telephone, but to see them as well and let them see you. This makes a telephone call much more personal and enjoyable.

  • Desktop Sharing. With the latest version of Skype 4.1, we now have the ability to share the content of your computer screen with others. We use this technology in doing our webinars. However, it is also great to share your digital photographs with others on Skype.

Skype is easy to download from www.skype.com and is free of charge. Using Skype to connect with another computer using Skype is also totally free. The product is easy to learn, fast and responsive, and can provide you with much more excitement than a simple telephone can do. This session will show you all of the best features of Skype and show you how to use these features. This is a good session for all computer users to attend.
